Shri Ram Krishna Sewa Trust

Our History

Group of prominent people of Gandhidham including Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal, Late Shri Rameshchandra Patadiya, Late Shri N.R.Ayachi, Shri Mohanbhai Dharsi, Shri Gangarambhai Thakker & others formed Shree Ram Krishna Sewa Trust with an object of gathering donation for conducting “BHAGWAT KATHA” in 1988 by Param Pujya Ramchandra ji Dongre ji Maharaj.

During the said BHAGWAT KATHA, Param Pujya Ramchandra ji Dongre ji Maharaj gave blessings to the Trust and showed them the path to build a Ultra Modern Hospital for Gandhidham complex and asked one of his devotees to donate Rs 11000/- to mark the beginning of gathering funds for building a ULTRA MODERN HOSPITAL.

The trustees immediately started gathering funds and started FREE EYE CHECK UP CAMP in association with Tolani Eye Hospital twice a year. It also gave a lion’s share in arranging the Grass for thousand of Cows in Lakhpat Taluka & made Water Reservoirs at Samakhiari for Animals going out of Kutch during the FAMINE SITUATION in KUTCH DISTRICT.

Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal served as a Trustee of Kandla Port Trust & Gandhidham Development Authority nominated by Central Government and gave his LION’s share for getting the land allotted for building Ultra Modern Hospital from Sindhu Rettlement Corporation at token rate being offered to Trusts.

After devastating Earthquake of 26th January, 2001, Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal & all trustees of Shree Ram Krishna Sewa Trust took oath to build the hospital anyhow as soon as possible but they faced challenges as economy of Kutch was completely devastated after Earthquake. Without enough money in pocket, Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal started the construction work of this Ultra Modern Hospital by building the boundary wall and a small Hall where they started Medical Services @ Token Rate of Rs 20 per patient and appointed a Well Experienced Doctor for the same.

In the year 2002, Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal called his second son Shri Pramod Bansal and told him that “MAKING OF HOSPITAL IS MY DREAM & YOU HAVE TO FULL FILL IT ANYHOW”. Shri Pramod Bansal accepted the father’s dream as his own and gathered all prominent people of Gandhidham alongwith Mr. Nandlal Goyal and offered them to make TRUSTEES of this hospital by accepting mere small donation of Rs 5 Lakhs only per Trustee. His wonderful idea took the toll of Trustees to 151 and within no time a reasonable amount of donation pumped in and the construction of this Ultra Modern Hospital started in full swing. Shri Pramod Bansal vowed to keep “BEARD” until the opening of the ULTRA MODERN HOSPITAL so daily whenever he sees the Mirror, he remembers still opening of hospital is left.

On 23rd day of the month of September in 2012, this Ultra Modern Hospital was opened under the Chairmanship of Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal who was aged 85 years. Soon after the opening of the Hospital, he announced to step down from the post of Chairman as he believed he could not do the justice with the post since he was quite old.

All the Trustees nominated name of Shri Pramod Bansal as Chairman of the Trust but Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal ji told that I don’t want the trust to be a FAMILY UNDERTAKING. My son Shri Pramod Bansal shall always serve this TRUST as a normal Trustee and shall visit the trust daily which was duly accepted by him.

With the support of all other trustees, Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal ji nominated Shri Mohanbhai Dharsi as the CHAIRMAN of the Trust as he had unblemished track record and is a strong and a dedicated leader who was working for more than 21 NGO without any selfish interest. On personal request of Shri Mohanbhai Dharsi, Late Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal ji agreed that one person from his family shall hold post of Vice President with consent of all Trustees.

After the opening of Hospital, Trust tied up with Sahyadri Group of Hospitals in Maharastra but as they were new in Gujarat could not bring in Doctors and the tie-up has to be changed to STERLING GROUP OF HOSPITALS.

Shri Radhey Shyam Bansal passed away on 18th September, 2014 at the age of 87 years and Gandhidham Municipality named the road leading to the hospital in his name “RADHEY SHYAM BANSAL MARG”.

Growth of Trust continued with the new partner “Sterling Hospital” and within a short span, Trust decided to make a dedicated CANCER UNIT in the hospital complex and again Trust under the able guidance of Shri Mohanbhai Dharsi & Shri Pramod Bansal completed the CANCER UNIT within a short span of 11 months and started the hospital for the people of KUTCH DISTRICT.

On 4th February of 2017 the newly constructed CANCER UNIT was inaugurated.
